I have a printer that wasn't listed on the compatibility chart (Epson R280) so was a little bit worried about it working with this server. It came with software, but I make it a point to try using a device without loading up it's software, using windows only and always have better success, and the DPR-1260 was no exception! Granted, I'm using this as a WIRED server and not wireless (highly recommend this). Just like the quickstart guide says, configure your network card (NIC) or wireless card with an IP address in the same range as the server. Logged into the server and changed the ip to match the range of my existing network (using an old linksys wireless router)and plugged it in to the linksys router. Hook up the printer, log into the server and setup. I did update to the latest firmware, which added compatibility to my printer. The server detected the printer and installed the drivers and it works like a charm! Not ony that, but the scan feature works great too, although it does use the servers interface, which works well too for scan only. My OS is WinXP home edition.
